Although a fragment, this very beautiful carving depicts The Virgin Mary wearing a giltwood crown.
The carving retains some of the original polychrome decoration and gilding.
It is interesting to compare it with the full figure of the Virgin and Child in the Wyvern Collection, catalogue 74.
