About

Tadema Gallery

Following our successful careers as photojournalists we founded Tadema Gallery in Islington's famed Camden Passage in 1978.

We first specialised in 20th Century Abstract Art and the Decorative Arts of the 19th and 20th Centuries.

A few years later, in 1982, we discovered a passion for artist designed jewellery and made this our field of specialisation.

Stock

Our eclectic choice of jewels spans the period from about 1860 till 1960.

This includes a selection of significant designers from the Art Nouveau, Arts & Crafts, Jugendstil and Art Deco movements in Europe.

Our clients include international museums and private collectors from all over the world.

We strive to please and inspire those who simply enjoy the beauty and fun of wearing jewellery.

Fairs & Online

For over three decades we exhibited widely in Art and Antique Fairs in London, New York and Tokyo.

In recent years we preferred the more personal touch and welcomed the many loyal visitors in our Gallery.

Sadly in 2017 David Newell-Smith was taken ill and died. As a tribute to my husband I intend to continue to celebrate our mutual photographic endeavours and as had originally been intended pursue Tadema Gallery Online.
