BADA British Watercolour Experts Sim Fine Art are delighted to announce a major museum sale, with the news that their work ‘Germany Defeated’ has been acquired by the Tate.

Painted by Feliks Topolski in 1945, the large expressionist oil painting depicts the cataclysm that enveloped Berlin in the dying days of the Hitler regime.

‘Germany Defeated’ also formed the centrepiece of Sim Fine Art’s annual war art show Holding the Line in 2015.

Speaking about the acquisition, Sir Nicholas Serota, the Director of the Tate, said: “We are extremely pleased to extend Feliks Topolski’s representation in the Collection.”

Sim Fine Art will be opening their summer exhibition The Age of Elegance – New Georgian Art 1910-1945 at Art Antiques London in Kensington Gardens June 24-30.
