BADA to host Temporary Admissions Seminar

As part of our ongoing campaign to #MakeTaxFair for the Fine Art and Antique community, BADA is hosting a one-day seminar, designed to clear up confusion and help dealers make the most from HM Revenue & Customs controversial Temporary Admissions system.
 
BADA, the trade association for the UK’s leading fine art and antique dealers, has responded to requests from a number of members, including BADA Chairman Michael Cohen, who have fallen foul of errors in HMRC’s TA administration system.
 
The one-day seminar will be hosted at the Royal Geographical Society on Thursday 21 July, and due to the far-reaching consequences of TA’s administrative failings, BADA have taken the unusual step of lifting their membership restrictions, making the event open to all UK dealers.
 
Whether you are new to the Temporary Admissions process or have experience of working within HMRC’s import guidelines, the event includes talks and presentations designed to benefit everyone.
 
Presentations include a detailed outline of the benefits of using TA, a comprehensive guide to the changes introduced by the new Unions Custom Code and a practical demonstration on how to record C88 entries online, directly into the HMRC computer system CHIEF.
 
BADA CEO, Marco Forgione, said: “It’s clear from speaking to our members that errors of the past have led to a great deal of confusion and distrust of the TA process. This event will not only benefit BADA’s members but the wider fine art and antiques industry as a whole.
