Kangxi Blue and White Double Gourd vase.
Chinese 17th century blue and white Double Gourd vase c1660 the end of the Emperor Shunzhi's reign beginning of the Emperor Kangxi's. made at Jingdezhen for export.
Painted to the sides with rose blooms and bamboo issuing from rockwork and towards the back of the pattern butterflies and insects.
A border of hatching in blue separates the two sections and the small upper part is painted with bamboo. To the top around the rim a stylised band of decoration.
The base has a more unusual Cheng H'ua in Linear form, this is an apocryphal mark to honour and not to decive.
