Antique Tabriz carpet.

The city of Tabriz in North West Persia was the earliest capital of the Safavid dynasty and it can claim to have been a major centre of carpet weaving longer than any other city in Persia.

This stunning large Vase design Tabriz carpet is a master piece of bold beauty. The impressive large scale patterns introduce a hint of fanciful creativity that suggest carefree spontaneity.

The rare ivory field provides the perfect background to the harmonious array of muted vegetable dyed colour compositions which have aged nicely, framed by a tasteful border.

This antique Tabriz carpet has some age related patina, but is in good condition for everyday use.

An attractive example of its type with effortless elegance that will be a great addition to a wide variety of settings.
