A wonderful early 15th century English oak sculpture of a robed Christ. Circa 1420.
Possibly from a retable, the smooth undulating hairstyle and series of deep nested v-folds relate closely to English alabasters of the early 15th century. Traces of polychrome throughout.
Provenance- from a private Cotswold collection.
