He counted Whistler as a close friend and corresponded with him about art and life. Ludovici is well known for his scenes of London life painted in a refined Impressionist style. He was able to capture the gaity of society at leisure and the essence of bohemian Paris and London of the period. He also painted landscape and interior scenes and worked in oils, watercolour and gouache.
