A wineglass, the round funnel bowl finely engraved with fruiting vine and a moth, on a hollow stem and folded foot.
English c. 1750.
Height 16 cm.
Sometimes known as ‘Excise’ glasses, hollow stems are quite rare. This is a really fine example with high quality engraving. The work of this engraver is usually associated with air twist stems.
