A Welsh nickle twist tobacco box, which is finely engraved –  the front has “E.Evans” and is dated 1913, the reverse has a rare engraving of a Welsh lady carrying a fishing net.

Twist was a name given for chewing tobacco, many coal miners chewed twist underground, as smoking was prohibited. It was thought to help keep the mouth moist in the dusty conditions.
