Mark:, impressed on base of each: WEDGWOOD Reference: Illustrated in 1774 Wedgwood factory catalog as Plate 3, design 7. Robin Reilly, "Wedgewood" (Stockton Press, 1989) Reilly describes this form as a "Cuvette for keeping glasses cool in water".
