William Edwin Atkinson, also known as W.E. Atkinson, was a Canadian painter of landscape, born in Toronto. A founding member of the Canadian Art Club in 1907, his work was influenced by Impressionism combined with aesthetics drawn from the Barbizon school and the Hague School. He was known for atmospheric paintings often showing dawn, dusk and moonlight scenes.
"Eventide" is a charming and atmospheric little oil painting on canvas measuring 8"x 10". It is signed lower left and is framed giving an overall size of 11"x 13".
