A Burr Walnut Serpentine Partners Desk.
Circa 1900.
Width 50 ½” (138cm) Depth 35 ½” 90 cm) Height 30” (76cm).
This exceptional desk with a blind tooled leather writing surface bordered by burr walnut and with an ogee moulded edge, above a serpentine front containing eleven oak lined drawers on bracket feet. The reverse with an inverted serpentine shape, three drawers and eight dummy drawers concealing two cupboards enclosing six deep drawers with inset handles. The sides and the interior sides all with fine burr walnut panels.
Of outstanding craftmanship using fine timber throughout this desk will grace any room.
