Walnut 19th Century Kidney Shaped Library Table.
An Exceptional Quality Mid 19th Century, Victorian Period, Figured Walnut Kidney Shaped Library Centre Table, Having Superb Parquetry & Marquetry Geometric Inlaid Pattern To Top Incorporating Stars and Interlocking Bands, Over One Frieze Drawer Raised On Elegant Bold Cabriole Legs With Original Gilt Bronze Mounted Decoration To Top And Original Gilt Bronze Scrolling Mount Feet Below.
This fabulous quality table is really something quite special. As mentioned the quality of construction, choice of timbers and overall design is as good as its possible to find from this period and these have all been combined to create something really quite spectacular.
The inlaid top is of a design which we have not seen before, but is incredibly striking and would have taken an incredible amount of time, skill and effort to create and the result of that is something really quite beautiful.
The gilt bronze decoration is also top quality and would have been incredibly expensive for the cabinet maker to have purchased in its own right at the time he was creating this piece.
Perfect for a variety of spaces around the home we think this lovely table would add a real touch of elegance to just about any room which it ends up positioned in and really help create that sophisticated look.
As with all items we offer for sale it has been inspected and attended to in our workshops by our trained antique furniture restorers and received a natural wax polish before being offered for sale to ensure it is ready for immediate placement within the home.
