Vintage Gold & Diamond Catherine Wheel Brooch.
A fine and heavy quality 18 karat yellow gold double clip brooch of openwork design with spoked bars. Eye catching with a large platinum set brilliant cut diamond centre and five graduating collet swirls of a further five brilliant cut diamonds. French eagles head mark. Unsigned but in the style of Hermès of Paris.
Diamond set jewellery in yellow gold was very popular in the 1950’s and 1960’s and this is a fine example. Beautifully designed and highly wearable with the characteristic double clip fastening.
