Collectible and well designed VICTORIAN sterling silver oyster fork with a fiddle pattern stem.
Makers: Reid & Sons. Newcastle 1819.
Sturdy but elegant oyster fork of good weight with a fiddle pattern stem. The end of the front of the stem is engraved with contemporary initials, while the full set of hallmarks is very clearly stamped on the reverse. The fact that the stem is fiddle pattern means that the grip is given better purchase. Newcastle silver is very collectible.
