A rare Victorian silver vesta case with suspension loop made in Chester in 1896/7 for Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee (celebrating 60 years on the throne) Along with the hallmarks to the inside and lid it also has a design registry mark struck twice to the sides.It is in excellent condition.The case is finely chased with a representation of Queen Victoria in a heart shape cartouche amidst floral motifs to one side and a vacant heart shape cartouche amidst floral motifs to the other.
