Very elegant pair of Victorian sterling silver beakers.
Made by John Harris of Harris, Brownett & Rose in London 1857.
The beakers are slightly tapered with a gently flared rim. The central part of the beakers is engraved with a wide band (2.5 inches) in a decorative snake pattern.
Each beaker is engraved on one side beneath the rim with a contemporary family crest of a bird of prey facing left.
The full set of hallmarks are clearly stamped on the edge of the upper rim of the engraved band on the opposite side from the crest.
The inside of both beakers is gilded.
These items are extremely attractive and unusual. They are of very good weight and sit very comfortably in the hand
