Elegantly designed Victorian Britannia Standard silver gilt fruit spoons.
Maker: George Adams. London 1861

The reverse of the bowls and the front-end of the stems are both engraved with a delicate scroll design.
The shape of the spoons is similar to the 17th Century trefid spoon but it has a far longer stem and a Victorian design.
Number 880 is engraved on the reverse of the stem next to the makers mark, this indicates that they were probably sent to an International Exhibition.
The full set of hallmarks and maker's mark are clearly stamped on the reverse of the stem.

Length: 10.1 inches (25.65cm)
Weight: 7 troy ounces (218 grams) .. the pair silver gilt
