A very small Charles I oak chest.

Probably made for a child, this lovely little chest has a two panelled top held by its original wire hinges, the front and back are also double panelled and it has single panel sides.

The rails, stiles and muntins are all channel moulded. Excellent colour and patination. Circa 1640. For a very similar example see Sotheby's 2002 sale of the Clive Sherwood Collection lot 214 which made £2585.
