An extremely rare and fine set of twenty four old English/Hanoverian pattern dessert forks made in Dublin in 1775 by Michael Keating. The forks are of an excellent gauge and in superb condition. They are of a good generous size (eighteenth century dessert forks have a tendency to be on the small side). This is the earliest large set of Irish old English/Hanoverian pattern forks that I have seen ( we would be prepared to divide them up into two sets of twelve).Michael Keating was a fine Dublin silversmith who specialised in flatware. These are part of a large private collection of eighteenth century Irish forks that we have just purchased.
