A very rare early George III Gold Mounted agate Needle or Bodkin case made, most probably in London, circa 1760.

The tubular main body is made from beautifully shaded orange agate, with an interior gold sleeve. The exterior displays horizontal chased scroll bands. This piece is in excellent condition and would have been used to carry needles or bodkins.

Diameter: 0.5 inches, 1.25cm.
