Dating to about 1670, this lovely stumpwork and tortoiseshell frame mirror is a rare survival, albeit with some losses.
It depicts Charles II and his wife Catherine of Braganza dressed in their royal robes and wearing their crowns.
Also shown are two further figures and a variety of heraldic animals including a stag, a lion, a leopard and a unicorn.
The plate is early but almost certainly original and it comes with a purpose made glazed protective frame which probably 19th century.
