A very fine George III Wine Funnel made in London in 1820 by John Edward Terrey.
This very fine example has a domed main body, with a reeded base. The spout is in excellent condition and has three ribbed supports.
The detachable bowl has a side clip, to attach to a punch bowl, and gadrooned rim. The bowl is pierced with roundels to simulate a flower head design.
This piece is very well marked and is engraved with a contemporary Crest. This piece is of a very good gauge and is in excellent conditio, as would be expected of this very fine silversmith.
Terrey had workshops at 23 Hatton Garden when this piece was made.
Height: 6.2 inches, 15.5 cm
Diameter of the bowl: 3.45 inches, 8.63 cm.
