A very fine and rare set of four George III Silver Gilt Dishes made in London in 1817 by Solomon Royes and John East Dix.
These very unusual dishes are oval in form with a sunken centre and raised outer rim decorated with a border displaying an eclectic mix of various flower heads.
The Dishes are in excellent condition and are fully marked on the reverse.
These pieces are of the finest quality and have a very good weight.
They were probably used for exotic fruits on the dessert table, as dessert was eaten with silver gilt, and lend themselves to a variety of uses today on the dining table.
