Veramin Carpet circa 1890s.
An elegantly refined weaving of the early 1900s. This particular example has a creative drawing where each palmette in the central field is cleverly repeated in different shapes and a variety of vegetable-dyed colours. The rare ivory field provides a great contrast to the harmonious array of colours and is framed by tasteful borders.
Early Veramin carpets from central Persia are recognised as exception workshop weavings. They are renowned for their remarkable quality, fine crisp drawings and balanced variety of vegetable-dyed colours.
A classic carpet with the versatility to blend in a variety of interior styles.
