Unusual Early 19th Century Papier Mâché Tilt-Top Table.
A rare 19th century, George IV, Regency papier mâche tilt-top occasional table attributable to Jennens and Bettridge (1816-1870) of 99, Constitution Hill, Birmingham.
The table with a sandwich-edge papier mâche circular top with bronze, gold leaf and painted decoration on a green background is decorated with birds, butterflies, flowers and foliage and sits on a saddle and fitted with a gilt brass catch.
The ring-turned and baluster shaped column is raised on three out-swept legs that terminate on gilt brass castors.
