The Most Unusual 18th Century Fauteuil (Armchair) In Original ‘Eau De Nil’ Paint and Silver Gilt work.

Italian circa 1780.

Of oversized proportions this rare armchair of unusual design dating to the late 18th Century was originally purchased from an Italian ladies shoe shop where the foot rail was unholstered and used to have your feet sized and shoes fitted.

Over painted in blue it has been gently restored back to the original paintwork by being painstakingly dry scraped leaving the underlying paintwork in superb condition.

Extremely decorative and rare....I doubt you will find another....this armchair may have originally been used on a ship with the rail being used so to tie it down.
