Two Three-Masters in High Seas, unknown artist (1804), follower of Willem Van de Velde.
This dramatic ink drawing, strongly influenced by the Dutch marine artist Willem Van de Velde, shows two three-master ships buffeted in high seas. It is executed in pen, brown ink and grey wash on laid paper, watermarked with a partial Strasburg Lily and dated 1804.
