Two Bronze Academy Candlesticks.
Two similar bronze candlesticks retaining and exhibiting the most wonderful bronze colour, the stems burnished from handling and engraved typically with the royal cypher above 'V.R.' and immediately beneath the uppermost band the serial numbers 1280 and 1041.
A recurring form of candlestick, from experience always singles, and each with some small difference, (as is the case here).
It is suggested that they are from military or naval colleges, or government offices during the Victorian era.
H:8 1/8 in x dia:5 1/4 in.
