A Tunbridge Ware stamp box with three compartments and with a stamp made for the Festival of Britain in 1951, which was intended to commemorate the Great Exhibition of 1851 and to promote British design, architecture, science and technology.
This box was made by Alfred Botten, who had worked for Tunbridge Wells Manufacturing Company in the 1920's and continued subsequently to produce a few small pieces of Tunbridge Ware.
