About the object

A rare rosewood dressing case inlaid with perspective cubes and borders of miniature parquetry to the lid and frieze. The frieze is also fitted with a partitioned, silk lined jewellery compartment. 

The interior is fitted with a tray and contains nine glass and silver topped jars, most of which are hallmarked. London 1835, Maker WN. The whole is lined in original green velvet, silk and leather. 

The lid has a leather lined document pocket with a label 'Fenner & Co, Inlaid Mosaic & Wood Manufacturer to Her Majesty & the Royal Family, Mount Ephraim, Tunbridge Wells'. Circa 1835
