A single door trinket cabinet with a fine view of St Helena's Cottage, Tunbridge Wells. This was a well-known location for visitors to the town in the 19th century, resulting in several versions appearing on Tunbridge Ware. Attributed to Alfred Talbot, this version is particularly distinctive, combining mosaic and well grained slices of veneer to depict the rocks surrounding the cottage.
The interior of the cabinet is fitted with four drawers, and it has a tartan printed paper to the base, frequently used by Talbot.
Circa 1850.
