This view was on the west side of The Steine, showing Marlborough House, adjacent to Mrs Fitzherbert's, which was designed by the architect, William Porden.

Mrs Fitzherbert was illegally married to the Prince of Wales in 1785 and lived in the house from its completion in 1804 until her death in 1837.
