Thai Bronze head of Buddha Gautama Sakyamuni.
16th century.
Shown with small haircurls covering his head and ushnisa, with a fine band separating his forehead from his hairdress.
The large flame on top of his head symbolising his spirituality is missing.
The elongated earlobes, as a result of wearing heavy earrings in his youth, reflect Buddha's royal origin.
