Very Rare 17th Century Tobacco Rasp in Boxwood. With it’s original metal rasp. The face side carved with Christ on the cross with stylised sun burst to the top. Rooftops and other carving below the cross. The back face houses the rasp with a wonderful carved spout to pour ‘snuff’ into a container, the wider end with a stylised sun and planets. A detailed border runs around the edge. In exceptional condition and super patination. 20 cm’s long Circa 1650-60.
