A Superb Early 17th Century Dutch Oak Table.

Probably from the first quarter of the 17th century, this oak table is in lovely untouched condition with superb patination and is of the type often seen in Flemish paintings of interiors.

The boarded top is pegged to the frame and so can can be removed or slid forward to make it easier to use for writing. The rails are moulded with carved decoration on all four side which suggests it was made to free stand and it has a deep single drawer.

The bulbous turned legs are surprisingly light in feel and the flat stretchers have excellent wear.

48 inches x 29 inches x 30 inches high.
