A Suite of Four Wall Appliques in the Louis XVI Style.
Constructed from gilt and patinated bronze, each applique designed around a central vine-wrapped thyrsus with acorn finial, issuing three scrolling arms of stylised acanthus, with fluttering birds perched beneath the drip pans interspersed with floral swags, the opposing reeded ends terminating in horned goat masks.
French, circa 1890.
