Antique Afshar rugs are nomadic rugs created in Shiraz in south west Persia. They are widely appreciated for their crisp nomadic weaving techniques and use of vegetable dyed colours. They are distinguishable by their geometric patterns and stylised medallions.
This attractive example features an array of beautifully woven flowers clearly showing creative outside influences making it a highly stylised unique piece.
