Beautiful 5 spindle Hourglass in Walnut with turned ‘Draught’ ends. Each spindle pole lathe turned. The two hand blown glass bowls filled with an Italian crushed ‘Rosa’ Marble with a wonderful mellow pink hue. These glass bowls conjoined by a wax and string knot. These wax and string knots were used before a continuous hourglass shape had been developed and could be blown in one. This piece is in exceptional condition throughout and of a wonderful patination and colour. Standing only 6inches tall and perfectly proportioned. A very rare and highly desirable model. Circa 1680-1700
