A matched pair of Staffordshire models of a Stag and Hind, circa 1770, finely modelled and perhaps attributable to Ralph Wood, originally designed by the Frenchman working at that pottery; John Voyez.
The principal difference between these two figures is in the modelling of the grass on the mound bases; the hind's being cast and in shallow relief, the stag's being piped.
Restored antlers and hind's ears.
Stag 6 inches wide. Hind 5.75 in wide.
