A Staffordshire Polychrome Salt Glaze Teapot.
Circa 1750 with 19th century silver mounts
Of typical naturalistic form, the teapot and cover are charmingly decorated with a primitively impressionistic floral and forested landscape. The cover has a hatched border with ring moulded edge and a later silver stylised oak sprig knop. The spout has a later silver spout in the form of a stylised horse’s mouth.
Minor chip and fritting to the inside of the cover, otherwise in good overall condition.
