A small James I oak livery cupboard, circa 1620.
The box-top formed from two boards, with triple-reeded edge, hinged to the centre and to the rear, the frieze embellished with elongated pyramidal and oval boss, atop a pair of doors, each with a slender panel centred by a matching pyramidal boss over a larger panel carved with a guilloche-filled arcade centred by the oval boss design, flanked by ornate split-baluster mouldings, enclosing a single shelf, the base boards with multiple piercings over a shallow well (presumably ventilated for herbs), panelled sides and triple-panelled rear, on later bun feet
