A charming early 18th century Georgian walnut tallboy, or chest on chest. Of extremely rare small proportions having quarter veneered and cross banded top over two short and six long superbly figured and cross banded drawers with replacement brass handles. Flanked by oak sides, raised on original shaped bracket feet.

Its extremely unusual to find an item of this type which offers such small and elegant proportions. These make it the perfect candidate to fit just about any space, in any room, in any house. The added bonus is that it is also a lovely example of it's type with the walnut veneers being very well selected and showing a lovely mellow colour and patina alongside their high figuring.

It does have replacement brass handles, however these have been well thought out and are of the exact style that the piece would have begun it’s life with.

Tallboys, or Chest On Chests as they are sometimes known are such useful, functional pieces of furniture. This item is as fit for purpose as the day it was made, with the added bonus of it being very beautiful indeed and that’s really quite something when you consider that it was made around 300 years or so ago.

The bracket feet are very much original and this is something which you do not regularly find on items of this nature which have generally received heavy use throughout their lives.
