18th century North Italian walnut commode.

This Classic 18th century model is a rare, small size with a rich colour and lustrous patina. From a private collection, Semenzato, Venezia.

Single plank top with solid moulded edge. The frieze with a band of gadrooned carving at the top. Below three drawers moulded with fine figuring original brass handles, escutcheon and locks only the top lock working. The pine drawers are lined with a block printed wallpaper possibly original. Standing on later feet incised and carved with a scallop shell. Bracket feet at the back. The sides plain. Lovely rich mellow colour, first half of the 18th century.
