A silver mounted Aragonite amuletic pendant.
The carbonate mineral set in an engraved dogs tooth setting with a rope twist border.
This pendant would have been used as a purifier of polluted or poisoned liquid (much like a bezoar), the wearer would have dipped the amulet into the liquid before consuming.

Modern research into the uses of Aragonite have proven the purifying nature of this mineral as Aragonite has been successfully tested for the removal of pollutants like zinc, cobalt & lead from contaminated water.
