The Silver Fish by Leo Klin.

A version of the work exhibited by Leo Klin at The Royal Academy in 1940, (exhibit No.881) titled 'The Silver Fish'. Painted in gouache on canvas board and within the frame provided by a Kensington framer in 1959.

The work signed and dated by the artist, 1951.

Leo Klin 1887-1967 was a painter originally from Russia. Born in Grodno where he studied at the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg. Once in England he lived in London and exhibited extensively, including the Royal Academy, The Royal Society of Portrait Painters, United Society of Artists and The New English Art Club. His work is held at Sunderland Museum and Art Gallery and The Russell-Cotes Art Gallery in Bournemouth.
