Short & Mason - London. Early 20th Century mahogany Barograph.

Very unusual and fine quality early 20th Century faded mahogany cased Barograph in original condition; the elegantly shaped, moulded hood, numbered 285, with 5 bevelled plate-glass panes, over 7-capsule barometer movement and distinctive, patented eight-day clock drum with platform escapement.

The whole on attractive moulded base, with bracket feet and twin compartment mahogany lined chart drawer to base.

Circa 1905.

Short and Mason were amongst the leading early manufacturers of ‘recording barometers’ (barographs), working from premises in Hatton Garden.
