Shell-edge Prattware Oval Dish painted with An Urn of Flowers.

1800-20.

The oval deep pearlware dish has a shaped border in blue with a painted blue shell-edge design.  The central well is painted with a large yellow urn with brown details at the border foot and handle with three large yellow flowers with large branches in typical Prattware colors of green, yellow and red.  Unusually, the design is painted across the narrow side to the design is upright.

Condition: Good.

Dimensions: 15 1/2 inches x 11 1/2 inches x 2 inches.

Provenance: With Schiffer Antiques.  The back carries an old large Schiffer Antiques paper label with a date for the dish of 1790 and an attribution to Leeds.  A second collection label of oval form with canted corners and a red border has a reference # CP29.
