A Set of Four Chinese Export Silver Candlesticks with Glasgow import marks for the firm of George Edward & Sons, 1899.

The Scottish firm was one of the few UK companies that stocked Chinese silver and pieces with their import mark are specifically targeted by some collectors.

There is no Chinese character mark on any of the candlesticks but there is a "95" which was a mark used by some Chinese companies in the nineteenth century to give an indication of the purity of the silver.

China, circa 1895.
